British Long Distance Postal Swim 20th February 2011
This is an event that is held throughout the UK during January and February each year. The aim is to swim as far as you can in one hour, this does not have to be non-stop and you can rest whenever you need to.
The postal swim is a competition in which hundreds of people take part, with age groups ranging from Under-10 to Masters. You will be ranked against people all over the country and if you are in the top three you will win a medal. There is also a team competition at the same time so the best three in each age group from the club will make a team, if there are six or nine in an age group then two or three teams could be made.
Anyone from Barracudas lengths and above can enter.
It will be held on Sunday 20th February and the cost of entering is £3.75 per person.
This is also going to be a sponsored swim to raise funds for the club and the Jamie G sporting trust, so if you take part please try to raise as much as possible. You will be given a sponsor form when you hand in your entry.
We will need at least 12 counters per one hour session (two per lane) so any parents that are willing to help please put it down on the entry form.
To enter the event, hand in your completed entry form to Natalie Thomas or Cheryl Sherwood.
